i think i like these colors more actually :o
here’s a close up cut of my last illustration, showing more about the technique i executed it in. lots of tiny little lines giving character to huge gradients. pretty fun, sort of tedious, but mostly fun.
second illustration project was to illustrate a fiction book’s cover, and i picked a clockwork orange since it’s one of my absolute favorites. one of the challenges was redesigning alex since i wasn’t allowed to use any influence from the movie, which i was pretty okay with since it’s very different from the book’s original release.
i’ll upload the full illustration shot later (this particular cut is smaller and book sized) as well as some of my favorite cuts from the illustration since i did a lot of work on this thing that isn’t really apparent until you look up close. i’m really enjoying the opportunity to make stuff like this for a class though, and i feel like i’m improving!

Go to work, be awesome at it, and don’t waste time on foolish flights of fancy.
life drawing from illustration class today. jacob said it looks super similar to my old india ink portraits from figure drawing forever ago, which is pretty rad since i did it on my surface! our model was very chill and very much fighting sleep and also had a really cute neck. really cute!!!!!!!!
